MISSING IN ACTION:Struggling to register a point in the second half against Brisbane, the Warriors sorely missed the tackle-busting abilities of young centre Konrad Hurrell. Kevin Locke is reported to be playing through the pain of a corked thigh but reassured that he will be at full pace when the gaps open for him this weekend.
The Knights will have to do without injured winger James McManus who is replaced by NSW Cup regular Kevin Naiqama. Neville Costigan was initially ruled out, but has since been cleared to take up his post at lock opposite Elijah Taylor.
FORM:There’s really two ways of looking at this. They say numbers don’t lie and although the Warriors put in an honest effort to produce superior numbers to those of the Broncos, they had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, despite missing 47 tackles the Knights blew the Sea Eagles off the pitch at Hunter Stadium 32-6.
Newcastle have the winning momentum with them at this point – winning three of their past four – and will need to be contained from early on. But as Warriors coach Brian McClennan hinted, his men are playing the right type of football and all they need now are the points to follow.
